From the Artistic Director

Through the knowledge of my cultural heritage, I have searched for my character and original style of expression by paying attention to and exploring the influences from both Western and Eastern civilizations. In my recent choreographic work, my aesthetic has spontaneously emerged, reflecting my self-knowing and understanding of factors including my social life and cultural environment both present and past.

Primarily, Western cultural influences have enlightened me, helping to reveal my identity as well as approach self-belief through individual meditation. As I started to respect my natural sense and trust my intution I realized that Chinese cultural essences already in my memory are strongly influencing my aesthetic sense. It is as if it has been planted like a seed of inspiration generating the creative impulses inside me and continuously taking place during my artistic processes.
