Kate Stanley

Kate Stanley completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Monash University with a double Major in Literature (some subjects completed through Melbourne University) and Contemporary Dance through the Faculty of Contemporary Arts at Deakin University Burwood. In 2004, Kate completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Choreography at the College of the Arts creating two works and also performing in Venus Vortex’s installation work.

In 2005, she assisted Stephanie Robinson in creating part of the Moomba festival parade and in 2006 assisted Choreographer Feng Feng Wang with her Choreographic project through the Victorian Arts Centre with the Full Tilt program. Kate is currently developing work as part of the Melbourne Young Choreographers Forum.

Through-out 2006, Kate is undertaking a Masters Degree in Choreography (Coursework) at the College of the Arts and developing a full length work focusing upon individual motivations and habitual movement patterns consciously and/or unconsciously recognised within the individual performer. In 2007, Kate will be assissting Choreographer Phillip Adams, as part of his new work Brindabella.
